Summertime is the time when more families get together to enjoy some
well-earned vacation time. Some families travel outside the state to get
away from the heat, while others may choose to stay in Arizona and take in
the natural beauty of the desert. Some families are not in a position to do
either, and simply try to enjoy their local parks and facilities. Take this
time to educate your community members on both the benefits and dangers of
outdoor activities in Arizona! Just an hour a day of active exercise is no
problem when students are enjoying an early-morning walk, or taking time to
hike the Grand Canyon with their family.
Help your community members out by planning something special for parents on
July 26th—National Parents Day! This day was founded to promote responsible
parenting in our society and to uplift ideal parental role models,
especially for our nation's children. Encourage your community members to
join you in some good, healthy, and active family time this month to
strengthen those bonds and parental role models! Remember—social health and
strong family interaction is a basic principle in a good community! Find out
